Whether through my writing, speaking, or mission work, my goal is simple: to help others find strength, surrender, and significance in their own stories.

Lynn Johnson is a visionary leader shaped by experience, faith, and an enduring belief in people’s potential. His leadership story didn't begin in a boardroom but in the quiet spaces of his heart where family and community took root and shaped his purpose. Long before leadership roles or executive titles, there was a young boy with a dream to change the world one life at a time. That dream, born from humble beginnings and strengthened through seasons of perseverance and humility, has grown into a legacy of leadership and service spanning nearly three decades. It is what drives his mission to share stories and build systems that empower individuals, strengthen communities, and inspire lasting change.
Today, as Chief Program Officer at City Union Mission, Lynn leads with both head and heart; guiding teams, shaping programs, and strengthening systems designed to restore hope. During his tenure as Interim CEO, he helped navigate the organization through one of its most pivotal seasons, uniting people and purpose to ensure the Mission’s future remained strong and steady. For Lynn, leadership has never been about control, it’s about stewardship: holding space for others to grow, heal, and thrive.
A defining thread throughout Lynn’s story is his lifelong commitment to at-risk male youth. From classrooms and gyms to community centers and churches, he’s been a steady mentor and voice of encouragement, helping young men believe in their worth when the world told them otherwise. His work has always lived at the intersection of mentorship, education, and faith-based empowerment, creating pathways for young men to discover the strength that was already within them.
As Director of Operations for the Urban Ranger Corps, Lynn helped transform what began as an after-school initiative into a powerful leadership pipeline for boys ages 14–18. Under his guidance, hundreds of young men learned discipline, civic duty, and purpose. Many of them became first-generation graduates, community leaders, and fathers determined to break generational cycles. For Lynn, every success story was a living testimony, proof that when you invest in one life, you change generations.
Before his time at the Corps, Lynn served with organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs, Camp Fire, and the YMCA, designing programs that became models for youth empowerment across the country. Whether building strategy at the executive level or coaching a young man on the basketball court, his mission has always been the same: to reach the farthest reached and remind them that they matter.
Beyond the office and the program charts, Lynn’s story is one of faith, family, and surrender. His forthcoming book, The Surrendered Man: What Truly Matters, is more than a memoir, it’s a movement. Through deeply personal reflections, Lynn shares how surrendering control became the key to real freedom and how strength, when grounded in faith, transforms not only leaders but entire communities.
